Early last week, I was down visiting pastors south of Chennai ( the massively large city where I stay while in India ). At one point we were stopped before railroad tracks. As we waited for the train to past, I took two pictures. The first one below was out the passenger side window. The passenger side window is the opposite side in India by the way.
This picture is interesting enough just by itself. The man sits weaving his baskets outside his hut with the large satellite dish sitting on top of his straw roof. The second picture down below however was taken out the front window, and shows not half a mile from this “quaint” cottage the massive new oddly shaped IT building. Actually I don’t know that it is an IT building, but in India it’s a pretty safe bet.
This is pretty typical in India, and certainly isn’t a phenomenon that is limited to India. Though it does seem like it tends to be a bit more blatant in India.
The other thing that you can see in this picture is in the foreground to the left, the building with the yellow roof, is a small local Hindu temple. Generally we tend to think of the large ancient Hindu temples, but there are millions of these small little local ones all over India. In fact there is one rather major one directly across the street from my apartment.
