Tuesday was all about the scenic climb.  We rode the bus about two hours into the mountains. Then we disembarked and pretty much climb straight up for two and half. Raju keeps reminding me that it was a “hill” not a mountain. But I think anything that you can climb for two and half hours without reaching the top has to be a mountain.

We reached the church there around noon, ate some rice and chicken. Apparently they were trying to catch one of the roosters for us, but they couldn’t find it so we ate the hen. Meanwhile I gave up on the whole water issue and decided that this high up in the mountains there was a pretty good chance the water was safe. I’m still not sick. We got back down and back to Chitwan around 7:00pm, a little tired and sore. Pastor JB and Raju were telling me how they first time they came out to area they carried a generator and LCD projector all around that “hill” to show the Jesus film.

Tuesday, Pastoral Conference began. We were supposed to start at nine but well it was a pastoral conference. We started at 10:30am. However once we started we didn’t quit. Excepting an hour break for lunch and supper we kept on through till 9:00pm, started up the next day at 6:30am and stopped at noon.

It was a good study. The Pastors had lots of questions. Speaking of which two of them were specifically asking about how to teach deaf members, so if anyone has experience or some helpful materials on this please let me know, and I’ll forward it on.

So now it is Thursday night and after a 5 hour bus ride I am back in Kathmandu. Except I am now staying at the Norwegian Guest House, where all the signs are in Norwegian. Furthermore supposedly on Fridays the Norwegians in town gather here for waffles, so we are going to have to see what that is all about. Meanwhile out in the hall way there are shelves filled with Norwegian Bibles and theology books. If only I could read Norwegian.
