Last night was apparently the Hindu festival of Maha Shivratri, a Hindu festival celebrating Shiva one of the major deities. Apparently the thing to do on Maha Shivratri is to stay up all night watching movies, or playing games or something. Not that I would celebrate a Hindu festival, but had I known what the custom was I may well have been tempted to make use of the excuse.
Instead I went to bed and got up and drove three and a half hours to teach. As normal we began at ten, but I was surprised when D Paul told me we would go until 2:30pm. Usually we stopped at 1pm. Here I was going to have an extra hour and a half. I could really got through some lessons today, I was thinking. Around 1pm I was finishing one section and about to start on another. I looked ahead quickly and thought I was just going to have time to finish by 2:30pm. This is when D Paul stopped me, “we were supposed to stop at 12:30pm now it is already 1pm.” I guess I misunderstood.
