I left India early on Saturday morning, and arrived in Nepal without incident early afternoon the same day.

I purposely set up my trip to arrive in Nepal on Saturday so that I would be here for service on Sunday, completely forgetting that Nepali worship on Saturday not Sunday.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous as it is always in Nepal. It is only 80 and sunny.

I stayed the first night at “Hungry Treat Hotel” Todd’s favorite place. I little place that I think does a fair amount business with foreigners traveling to Nepal on a strict budget. No hot water, but then for $10 a night, I’m glad it has a shower. By the way by shower I mean a faucet and a bucket. But it really is a fairly nice place. For one its clean, and it has a lot “character”.

Raju meet me at the airport. Rajan is apparently off evangelizing some remote villages and will meet us in Chitwan.

I spent the evening at the Bhitrakoti’s house.  We had rice, dahl, French fries, chicken, spinach, fresh yogurt, and fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions ).

Today we are traveling to Chitwan where we will be having pastoral meetings and studies. The topics scheduled for this meeting are the sacraments with special focus on close communion.

To save money on travel expense we are going via private bus, ie a large van packed full of people. We have so far spent a good portion of the morning sitting in the van waiting for it to leave. Which it has not because it is not yet quite full enough.  I think there are still a couple of inches between some of those in the back seat.

The first year we were here while traveling, JB threw some plastic trash out the window. Which is naturally the way most people get rid of trash here in Nepal as well as India. I told JB that if we were in the US he could get fined as much as $500 for littering like that. Now whenever I am here and he has trash to get rid of he asks me how much the fine would be.
