Sunday we morning we left for our first trip to the new district of Madanapalle. We were supposed to be stopping to visit a church in Chittoor on the way but I apparently forgot to tell Vanessa that we were going to be gone overnight. So twenty minutes before we were supposed to leave is when Vanessa found out she needed to pack. We left 15 minutes late and were still half an hour away at noon. Apparently the members got tired of waiting and left.

Madanapalle is the home town of Pastor G. B Backtavachalam. It is quite far to the west of Chennai. It is about two hours north east of Bangaluru. From Chennai it’s about 170 miles, 6 hours drive time. It’s also higher in elevation so the weather is nice and cool. Previously Pastor G. B. would take the bus 2 to 3 hours to attend classes at Chittoor district.

Pastor Backtavachalem has a small quaint church in Madanapalle. In the pictures you can see he needs to finish the doors and windows.

We had about 25 pastors come to class. We talked about periscopes, the Church Year, and proper bible study techniques.

Monday morning we couldn’t find a good restaurant for breakfast, so I picked up three juice boxes, two snickers, and a Pepsi at the grocery store.

Monday after class we left Madanapalle for Chennai and finally arrived around back around 9pm.
